PHOTOGRAPHIC MEMORY
Photomontage, Photography, and Digital Painting Series, 2010–2025
Photographic Memory explores patterns in family photography and their role in shaping collective consciousness. In this ongoing project, I deconstruct and reassemble visual worlds—merging fragments from hundreds of photographs taken across different times and places to create images detached from conventional temporal or spatial constraints. These uncanny compositions, created through photomontage, photography, and digital painting, capture moments of recognition and unease, rich with tension born from digitally constructed environments and staged mundanity.
By challenging traditional notions of truth and representation, the work invites viewers to reconsider what makes a photograph feel “real.”
The project comprises several series developed over more than a decade, including:
– Quiet Time (2021–2025)
– Slideshow (2015)
– Back Yard (2014)
– Child Care (2013)
– Playing House (2010)
